Ayers Civic Center

The Ayers Civic Center was chartered in the State of Texas, on July 06, 1972, with Charter number 309013. The organization was qualified under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 (or the corresponding provision of any future United States Internal Revenue Law).

The founding fathers were Silverio Valencia, Jr., Victor C. Guajardo, Eduardo E. DeAses, and Clemente Garcia, Jr.

This organization is organized exclusively for the promotion of the social welfare of the people of Corpus Christi, Texas, generally, with special emphasis on the promotion of social activities for the youth of the community.

Mission Statement:

Our goal is to provide low income families in the Ayers Street Corridor of Corpus Christi with financial assistance for education and to support youth extracurricular activities.

Christ the King Church

Founded in 1946, Christ the King Catholic Church ministers to a low-income community in the heart of Corpus Christi’s Westside. Christi the King School is integrated in the life of the church and families are expected to be active within the parish.

Christ the King School

Founded in 1948, the goal of Christ the King School is to form children according to the royal dignity of Christ the King, disciplined in virtue, rooted in Catholic tradition, imbued with knowledge of this world and the next. Christ the King School serves grades K-6 offering a top-notch elementary school curriculum featuring fundamentals in reading, writing and arithmetic along with Catholic history, culture and dramatic plays, plus the School features a bird aviary and vegetable garden for hands-on science projects.

The foundation offered several services and programs to approximately 2500 students. Some of the services and programs offered included crisis intervention, outreach programs, prevention education, counseling for at-risk youth and family members, skills based training for youth & families, alternative activities, cultural awareness & mentor training.

Southside Youth Football League, Inc.

Chartered as a non-profit organization in March 5, 1968, the Southside Youth Football League has offered area youth the opportunity to develop sportsmanship, respect, teamwork and leadership skills through participation in football. Our goal is to ensure that youth who participate in the program excel on and off the football field. We encourage all participants and families to support our community with pride.
